Whilst the processing and decision waiting times for your visa application are critical in order to make important decisions surrounding travel and moving, these can vary depending on your situation, country of origin, type of visa, and more.
If you’re applying from inside the UK, there are multiple types of visa that have various processing lead times.
For a Standard Visitor visa, a Skilled Worker visa, Student visa or Child Student visa, processing times are currently around 8 weeks.
However, this is seen to increase for applications such as the British National (Overseas) visa (12 weeks) or a Parent visa (12 months).

If you’re applying from outside the UK, you may experience differing lead times from those noted above.
For example, Standard Visitor, Permitted Paid Engagement or Marriage Visitor visas are currently experiencing a processing time of 3 weeks.
Temporary work visas including the Charity or Creative Worker visas are currently seeing a processing time of 3 weeks, whilst Parent, Child or Partner/Spouse visas increase to 24 weeks.
